| Back Body Copy | THE 39th ANNUAL June 25th & June 26th 2011 Inner Circle is a Grammy winning reggae quintet from Jamaica with a long string of successes stretching back to the mid-70’s. Inner Circle’s special brand of pop-oriented Jamaican beats and energy-filled live performances have allowed the band to transcend the traditional reggae niche and enjoy widespread crossover appeal. The Big Takeover is a New York based high energy sextet with a refreshing upbeat, party-making approach to interpreting the Jamaican tradition of rocksteady, ska, and reggae music. They are fronted by a gunuine Jamaican singer and backed by a skin tight five piece rhythm and brass section. Jah Witness is a roots reggae band from Jamaica. The leader of Jah Witness, JAHWIT, is a highly skilled vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and binghi drumsmith. Chris Rastadrumma Smith is the drummer for the band and has been influenced Sly Dunbar and Dennis Brown. For them playing reggae music will always be a major force that drives them forward. Mighty Mystics is comprised of Mighty Mystic, Steven Thunder, Marc Smith, Brent Sirios, Doug Smith, and Koga Rite. Each member of the band comes from a different musical background making their sound rich and dynamic. Sister D and the DisnDat formed in 1999 by the four time grammy nominated Black Uhuru drummer Rangotan and six time steel pan champion Sister D, Dis-n-Dat band has been blazing a trail of good vybes wherever they play. Preforming with them are Marcia Higgs(Joseph Higgs daughter, Cuban Cohiba, and Toussaint. Toussaint began his musical journey where most of the celebrated soul voices of the past began in church. Now he is touring the world and performing at legendary venues across the world.
